About me:

Hello and welcome to my photo site. My passion for photography dates back to high school days. My style of photograghy can be described as neo-classical, which is a combination of modern journalistic, street style and/or reportage with classical formal portraits and poses. Some of the iconic masters that I've admired and have influenced my style are: Elliott Erwitt, Robert Doisneau, Francesco Scavullo, Richard Avedon, and many others. I've done black & white and color film development and darkroom printing (analog films) both personally and professionally. I've been shooting with the digital medium since 1989 with some of the first digital cameras on the market such as the Sony Mavica, Canon Xapshot, Casio QV-10, etc.. When Canon introduced the first "affordable" D-SLR, the Rebel, back in 2003, I jumped over fully to this new digital format. My passion for photography extends well beyond my hobby past times and into my professional life as well. I currently work for a global digital imaging company overseeing the product development of point & shoot digital cameras and video camcorders.

"How I Saw It..."

While I do use a Full-frame Professional Canon D-SLR and use their top of line L lenses, I still strongly value good creative composition and lighting over the fancy technical stuff. As Elliott Erwitt eloquently said "To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.". It's not the fancy camera that makes the photograph but the person behind the camera. I would rather have a beautifully composed photograph taken on a smartphone than a non artistic one taken with a fancy expensive D-SLR. I hope to create a lasting impression of the subject this is "How I saw it..".

Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to receiving feedback from you.
